PM Modi arrives in Gujarat tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on a tour of Gujarat on Sunday, will inaugurate the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation's Chocolate Plant in Mogar, Anand district of Gujarat, after which he will inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi Museum at Alfred High School in Rajkoa. This will be the address of a farmer's address to the General Assembly, in which the Mahatma Gandhi, in 1887, the Minister was tempted. After the country's independence, this school was named Mohandas Gandhi High School. Modi will also hand over the natural gas pipeline laid between Mundra Port and Anjar by The Gujarat State Petronet Limited in Anjar in Kutch district along with the nation.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
