PNB scam: Nirav Modi seized assets worth Rs 637 crore

ED has seized assets worth Rs 637 crore while taking huge action against Nirav Modi, the fugitive accused who fled abroad after putting a lime of Rs 13,000 crore to Punjab National Bank. According to the information, the ED has seized the property of Neerav Modi worth Rs 637 crore abroad. At the same time, many foreign bank accounts of fugitive Nirav Modi have been seized.

According to the information, the ED has seized two properties from New York City of the US. Their worth is about Rs 216 crore. Apart from this, property has also been seized from London and Singapore. According to the information, this action has been taken under the Money Laundering Act under Section 5 of Neerv Modi. Tell that Nirvav Modi is a diamond businessman.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
