Former Prime Minister son life sentence

The son of Bangladesh's current Prime Minister Hasina has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The sentence has been heard on August 21, 2004 in an attack on an Awami League rally. Former Home Minister Lutfozaman Babar is among the 19 people whom the court on Wednesday Sentenced to death Rahman, senior vice president of BNP, living in exile in London, and 18 others were sentenced to life imprisonment.

It was found in the investigation that the effective faction of the BNP-led government, including Rehman, had planned to attack the terrorist organization Harkat-al-Jihad al-Islami's terrorists and sponsored the attack.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
