Film Simmba box office collection Rs 50 crore in 2 Day

Rohit Shetty’s  Simmba , starring Ranveer Singh in the titular role, continued its spectacular run at the box-office on Saturday as it added Rs 23.33 crore more to its kitty. The growth from Friday, when the film had collected Rs 20.72 crore, is a good 12.60 per cent. After a two-day run at the box-office, its total collection stands at Rs 44.05 crore. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the business figures of  Simmba  on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.

Bengali filmmaker Mrinal  Sen, who  was living currently in Kolkata passes away at the age of 95 at his residence earlier today. Mrinal Sen was a renowned filmmaker known for his films Akash Kusum (1965), Bhuvan Shome (1969), Mrigayaa (1976), Calcutta 71 (1971), Ek Din Pratidin (1980), Akaler Sandhane (1980), Khandhar (1984) and Antareen (1993). He not only respected by his  fans, but  also resulted in him to win many prestigious awards.

World War 2 bomb found during dredging operations in Kolkata

A 1000-pound aerial bomb dating back to the World War-II era has been unearthed at a dock here during routine dredging operations. The area was cordoned off following the discovery of the bomb Friday and the police, Navy and the Army duly informed, Kolkata Port Trust Chairman Vinit Kumar said. “The 4.5-km-long aerial bomb was located around 2 pm yesterday during dredging operations at Netaji Subhas Dock berth II. Initially, we thought it was a torpedo, but the Navy has confirmed that it is a bomb,” he told PTI. The explosive is likely to be defused with the help of officials from the Ordnance

23 dead, after bus falls into ravine in Nepal’s Dang

A  bus carrying college students and their teachers back from an educational trip veered off a mountainous road and lunged into a ravine in Nepal, killing 23 people and injuring 14 others.The fatal crash occurred on Friday when the bus was returning from Kapurkot in Salyan district. According to the District Police Office, Dang, there were 37 persons -34 students, two teachers and a diver, on the ill-fated bus, which drove off the road and fell some 700 metres down near Ramri village, about 400 kilometers west of the capital Kathmandu. Fourteen persons, including five women, were injured in the incident.

GST Meet : Six items taken out of the 28 per cent tax bracket

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said that six items have been removed from the 28 per cent tax bracket under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. There were 34 items in the 28 per cent tax bracket which included luxury and ‘sin goods’ till now. However, the GST Council in its meeting on Saturday decided to take out 6 items from this list. Only 28 items now remain in the 28 per cent GST tax bracket.

Anand is already working on  a senior executive post  in Facebook. According to the news, the company has announced the name of Anand. Anand has been working  with  Facebook for four years. Prior to that, he had worked for 15 years  with Microsoft. Rape from British woman in Goa

On Thursday morning, a case of rape  by  a British woman has come out in Goa. According to the information, an unidentified person with a 48-year-old British tourist traveling to Palolem Beach of Goa raped him. The accused also robbed the woman's luggage and fled. It is being told that the incident  is, about  four o'clock on Thursday morning when the woman was going to Palolem Beach in  South  Goa district. After the incident, the British woman has lodged a complaint with the police. The woman says that when she was going from the Kanakona railway station  in  the middle, an unknown person dragged her to the side of the road and raped her.  The police  is looking for the accused.
