Mahinda Rajapakse resigns Sri lankas Prime Minister

According to Sri Lankan MP Shehan Samasinghe, Rajapakse told MPs of the United People's Freedom Alliance that they resigned from the post, according to Sri Lanka MP Shehun Samasinghe, resigned as the Prime Minister after the controversial move by Sri Lankan President Maitripala Sirisena.

It is noteworthy that after the controversial move by President Matiripala Sirisena to remove Ranil Vikramasinghe on October 26, he made Rajapakse the Prime Minister, after which a constitutional crisis had arisen in the country.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
