For this shoot I got to style my own outfits, obviously I wanted to keep it sultry but also classy! I also wanted to incorporate Indian pieces into my outfits like I do normally. When @nicksaglimbeni first reached out to me back in October 2017, I couldn't believe my eyes! He asked me if I was interested in shooting for @maxim.india and it was pretty hard to imagine. It was hard to imagine that a small, petite desi girl was being offered an opportunity of a lifetime! That everything I worked so hard for was starting to pay off. This was not a goal in my Instagram career, but it was part of a path I didn't know I needed. At first I was a bit hesitant, I have never deemed myself as the sexy type or the girl who was risqué. I am not the curviest girl or the tallest girl, but I took on this opportunity with the support of my family and friends. -- In May 2018, a few days after my 21st birthday, we shot this issue. This was my first sultry shoot and I'm so grateful it was with an amazing photographer like Nick! He made me feel so confident in front of the camera and never once uncomfortable! While looking through the photos I started to feel more comfortable in my own body, more powerful. Little did I know that this once in the lifetime opportunity was also going to change me as a woman and how I saw myself. This was the shoot that changed me for the better, a change I didn't know I was struggling with. That a girl who was fighting with her body image could create something so powerful! This shoot allowed me to break boundaries for myself and for the women around me.
