The highest civilian award given to PM Narendra Modi in UAE


Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Order of Zayed, the UAE's highest civilian honor. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this honor. PM Modi also held high-level talks with the UAE ruler before receiving the honor today. PM Modi said during the UAE visit that relations between the two countries are steadily strengthening. The PM also said that UAE has always stood firm with India in the fight against terrorism.


This honor is given to heads of nations and presidents. The award has been awarded to President Putin of Russia in 2007, Queen Elizabeth in 2016, and Chinese President Xi Chinfing in 2018. Prime Minister Modi has visited UAE twice as Prime Minister, while Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has also visited India twice in three years.


The Foreign Ministry said in a statement prior to his visit, "The award is named after UAE founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This has special significance because the Prime Minister is to be conferred on Sheikh Zayed in his centenary year. ”India and the UAE have a warm, close and multi-faceted relationship that is also culturally, religiously and economically connected and Prime Minister During Narendra Modi's visit to the UAE earlier in August 2015, there was also a broad strategic partnership between the two countries.

In April, the UAE announced Modi to be honored with the country's highest honor. Walihad Ahmad Shahzada Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi said in a tweet in April, "We have had a historic and comprehensive strategic relationship with India, in which my integral friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played an important role. He worked to bring more intensity in these relations. '

PM Modi also met the Crown Prince of UAE

PM Modi will also leave Bahrain from UAE today. In Bahrain, PM will also inaugurate an ancient temple and address the Indian community. The PM also met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE. PM Modi told a media group that relations between India and the UAE have steadily strengthened. Giving the example of Dubai, he said that lakhs of Indians contributed to build this city and are living a respectable life here today.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
