Floods in Various Parts of Madhya Pradesh

National Disaster Response Force Rescues Over 26,000 In 5 Flood-Hit States

Due to incessant rains in Bhopal and adjoining areas the roads being uprooted.  Life has stopped in Madhya Pradesh after torrential rains and floods. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no hope of getting relief from the rain in the state and the people of the state may be affected in the next two days.  

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in 38 districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued Red in 18 districts, Orange alert in 20 districts. The Narmada River is also flowing above the danger mark in many districts. Due to the rains, gates of 21 dams out of 28 big dams in Madhya Pradesh have been opened. Gates of Indira Sagar, Bargi Dam, Tawa Dam, Kolar Dam have been opened.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Indore, Dhar, Khandwa, Khargone, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Barwani, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Shajapur, Agar, Dewas, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Hoshangabad, Betul and Harda districts.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the capital Bhopal, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Mandla, Katni, Balaghat. 
Apart from this, Orange alert has also been issued in Narsinghpur, Seoni, Raisen, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Sehore, Anuppur, Dindori, Umaria, Shahdol, Guna, Ashoknagar, Rewa and Sagar districts.
