Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Global Goal Keeper Award in America today. The award was given by the Bill-Melinda Gates Foundation for his commendable work 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' and today Modi also met US President Donald Trump in New York.
PM Modi also attended the banquet organized by the Secretary General. He also inaugurated the 50-kilowatt 'Gandhi Solar Park' at the United Nations today to promote renewable energy and tackle climate change.
According to reports according to the Foundation, the award aimed at providing 'special honor' to a political leader who has expressed his commitment to 'Global Goals' through influential work in his country or globally. The Foundation said, "We have given Modi our annual 'Goalkeepers Global Goals' Award for providing sanitation to more than 500 million people in India."
