The Assembly elections in Maharashtra are round the corner but a big news is coming from NCP. According to reports National Comgress Party has suffered major setback as its MLA and speaker in the assembly Mr. Ajit Pawar has resigned. This is termed as a major set back to the party. Sources say that he may soon join the BJP and can play an important role in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, although Ajit Pawar has not yet revealed which party he will join.
According to reports many leaders of NCP and Congress have resigned so far. Voting in the states will take place in a single phase on 21 October and the votes will be counted on 24 October.
