The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall in 20 districts of Madhya Pradesh. As a precautionary measure the collectors of these area have been asked to take necessary steps.  These areas includes places in Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Dewas, Agar, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Ujjain, Dhar, Sehore, Raisen, Barwani and Guna districts.  At some places heavy rainfall to very heavy rainfall is expected.

This is happening as low pressure areas is developing near Bay Of Bengal and the monsoon passing from Jabalpur is exaggerating the situation making it worse. 

According to meteorologists, the process of heavy showers is likely to continue for several days at many places in the state. According to the Meteorological Center, so far 19 percent more rainfall has been received in the state.

A low pressure area still persists on the Orissa coast of the Bay of Bengal. There is also a cyclonic wind gulp over this system. The monsoon Dronika (trough) continues through Bikaner, Jaipur, Guna, Jabalpur, Pendra Road, Jharsuguda to a low pressure area along the Odisha coast. At the same time, east-west wind collision is happening over the southern region of the state. Due to these systems, thunderstorm and intermittent showers continue throughout the state including the capital.
