8 New helicopters deployed at Air Force Combat fleet at Pathankhot Airbase

This step is taken in the situation where anytime Pakistan could attack India due to J&K tense situation.  The helicopters termed as Apache are new to the air fleet and India is termed as 14th Country to have them in the fleet.   The helicopters are purchased from US and are joined yesterday in the presence of  Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa.

India has an agreement in 2015 to buy 22 Apaches from the US.  It is believed that by 2020 they will all join the Air Force fleet.  11 will be deployed along Pathankot along the Pak border and 11 in Jorhat in Assam along the China border. This will make it easy to monitor the movements of Pakistan and China. The deployment of Apache in the Airforce is being done at a time when Dhanoa has given a statement that we are flying 40 year old fighter.  Even in the dark, you will find the enemy as these are fitted with sensors, with the help of which the helicopter can eliminate the enemy in the dark of night.  High quality is the night vision system. By which the enemy can be found even in darkness. It is equipped with missiles and can hit 128 targets in a minute.

In the event of a Pak attack on the Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir border, major action can be taken immediately.  Apache will have equipment to take pictures of the terrorists and send them to the commandos.
