Under Motor Vehicles Act 2019 if the driver of a heavy vehicle (truck drivers) is wearing Lungi, Baniyan or in other words wearing a comfortable attire then he may face hefty fine up to Rs 2000 / -.
This act says that the driver to wear full length pants paired with t shirt or a shirt. This act instructs school bus drivers to wear uniform while on duty otherwise a fine of Rs 2000 / - will be charged if driver is not found wearing uniform on duty before a fine of Rs 500 / - was charged from the act of 1989 but till date that act was not properly applied.
However now according to ASP traffic Lucknow Poornendu Singh 'the motor vehicle act of 2019 is properly dealt with and fines are charged and punishments given to the defaulters'.
