All India Banks Are On Strike Today


As per mews the All India Banks are on nation wide strike today.  Some employee unions like All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) are on a nationwide strike today to protest against the merger of public sector banks and the reduction in interest rate on deposits.

The strike is of only government sector banks and high officials of the banks are not involved in the strike.  However, private sector banks are functioning as per routine.  Most of the banks have already informed their customers in this regard. However, this strike will not affect the customers of State Bank of India, the largest government bank in the country. According to the bank, the membership of the employees of SBI is very less in the employees organizations involved in the strike.

AIBEA general secretary CH Venkatachalam said, "We have decided to go on strike because the outcome of the meeting called by the Chief Labor Commissioner was not positive". Meeting of Indian Banks Association (IBA) and unions before Chief Labor Commissioner.   He said, "In such a situation, our call of strike has retained its place." We have called on unions and members across the country to join this strike. "

As per facts this week is full of holidays as in this week Dhanteras and Diwali is due. Due to which, on 26, 27, 28, 29 October, there will be four consecutive days of bank holiday. This will happen due to the fourth Saturday of the month and the Diwali holidays. In such a situation, keeping in mind the requirements related to cash, deposit and withdrawal, if you complete them beforehand, then you will be comfortable.
