In Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, a case has been registered by the police against a former BJP MP and an MLA for attempting rape. It is being told that a woman had lodged a complaint against BJP MLA Dhullu Mahato for attempting rape last year.
However in the starting no complaint was lodged. When FIR was not done than the woman approached Jharkhand High Court. Acting on the notice of the High Court, an FIR was lodged against Mahato at Katras police station in Dhanbad district on Sunday.
According to the complaint, Mahato had called the woman leader of the BJP at the Tundi Guest House in Dhanbad and attempted rape there.
A similar complaint was lodged last year by a woman member of the BJP against Ravindra Pandey, then Giridih MP of BJP. The police did not register an FIR in that case too. Now after about a year this complaint has also been converted into an FIR.
