Concerned Tweet Of Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad Over Whatsup

Reports are coming in of the tweet of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in which he has mentioned of the concern of the government of India for the concerned breach of privacy of the citizens of India on the messaging platform WhatsApp.

The tweet further added that the Minister has questioned Whatsup to explain the kind of breach and what the company is doing to safeguard the privacy of millions of Indian citizens.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
