This might be the first case in the world when 13 parrots were produced in Patiala House Court on Wednesday.
These parrots were recovered by the CISF and the Customs Department at the Indira Gandhi International Airport from an Uzbekistan Resident who was carrying these parrots with him and he had hid them in shoe boxes.
The judge ordered to free all the parrots by taking them to Okhla Bird Sanctuary and had ordered judicial custody for 14 days to the accused. On Wednesday, the lawyer of the Customs Department demanded to hand over the parrots to the Forest Department.
After seeing the caged parrots in the court, the judge ordered to free them, but did not give relief to the accused smuggler.
