In a major decision of the Modi Government, it is going to distribute economic help of Rs 5.5 Lakh to 5300 families who have moved from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to various parts of India.
These families are now comprising of three types:-
1. Who came in 1947 during Partition.
2. Some came after the merger of Kashmir.
3. And Some from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in India.
Now these families are settled in various states apart from Kashmir. Initially in 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a grant of Rs 5.5 lakh rupees for only those people who came from PoK, but then these 5300 families were excluded and not given grant of any sort.
Now with this step of the Union government these families are also included and assistance is given to them as well. The amount which will be given is for settling their homes in India.
