In the latest development in the closure of PMC Bank, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday held a meeting with depositors of PMC Bank and stated that the RBI is taking action against the crisis-hit lender's management.
She has insured the investor that their money will not be lost and confirmed that she has spoken to Reserve Bank Of India Governor that nothing untoward will happen to the depositors.
She added that, "I've told depositors that the RBI is looking into the matter,". She also stated that she that she is also eyeing on the situations arising from the closure. She is also in the constant talks with the RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on urgency and distress of depositors.
She also stated that since in this matter she cannot directly intervene as the situation is being tackled by RBI and the matter has to be solved by RBI. And government can't intervene in between.
