PM Modi Reaches Saudi Arabia For Two Day Tour


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Saudi Arabia on a two day tour.  He was given a warm welcome at the airport here in Riyadh. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar tweeted with a photo of PM Modi and said that Prince Faisal bin Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh, gave a formal welcome to the Prime Minister. Both countries have entered an exciting phase of expansion of historic India-Saudi relations.

Prime Minister Modi has arrived here to attend the session of the third 'Future Investment Initiative Forum' at the invitation of Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.  Ravish further tweeted, "Reached Saudi Arabia with the aim of further strengthening relations with an important friend". During this visit Prime Minister will be participating in many programs organized by the Saudi Government.

Before leaving for the visit, the Prime Minister said in a statement, "I will also meet the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman and discuss various issues of bilateral cooperation and regional and global issues of mutual interest."

The Prime Minister said that he is looking forward to his participation in the 'Future Investment Forum'  and he talks about growing business and investment opportunities for global investors in India as they move towards the goal of becoming the country's five thousand billion dollar economy by 2024. Prime Minister Modi will also address a session on the subject. This platform will be called 'Davos in the desert'.
