According to sources Rahul Gandhi has returned back to India from a foreign trip today. He will be facing the defamation case in Gujrat today and as expected has not returned for the campaigning for assembly elections to be held in two states.
Rahul will appear in Surat court of Gujarat today. In fact, Rahul Gandhi will appear in a court in Surat today in connection with the defamation case made during the promotional campaign of Lok Sabha elections 2019, the controversial statement was given for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surname Modi.
As per sources Rahul Gandhi in 2019 Lok Sabha assembly elections while addressing a gathering said that why all the thieves have the surname Modi? After which the local MLA Purnesh Modi filed a criminal defamation case.
Gujarat Congress President Amit Chavda said that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be appearing in Surat Court on 10 October. Chief Judicial Magistrate BH Kapadia issued summons against Gandhi in May. Rahul will be present his case in the court on Thursday.
