Millions of employees of government owned telecom company BSNL and MTNL will be on strike today because of the non payment of their salaries.  Due to recession in these companies, employees of these companies are facing issues in getting their salaries.  As these companies are in the verge of closure.

Both the companies are with poor financial condition, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad of Modi government said that the government is trying to overcome the problems faced by running this company.  BSNL or MTNL survival is still a strategic issue in which the central government as well as the employees of the both the companies are involved.  The fate of thousands of employees of the company is still unknown as if the revival is not done then many would be left jobless. A giant company may fall leaving behind itself a legacy of service.

According to Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad there are problems in telecom sector which are being looked upon.  These companies have always worked for the strategic growth of the country.  Whenever there is flood, cyclone and other calamities these companies have worked for the betterment of the nation by providing its services for free.

Even the telecom ministry has agreed to release interim package to these companies for their substantial relief but to that package finance ministry has raised 80 objections to the package provided.

Now it is time for Deepavali, the holy festival of Hindus and nearly 1.58 lakh employees of BSNL have not received their September salary and around 22 thousand employees of MTNL have not received salary for the month of August.

This situation have made the employees dissatisfied by the working of the government as their problem is not being dealt properly by the government and till today very less is being done for them to appraise their situation.  However according to the Union government it is trying to deal with the situation and the salaries will be paid before Diwali.  Still the employees are keeping their fingers crossed for their fate to this company.
