These MLA's are from congress and JDS parties. As reported earlier in July, then Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy disqualified these 17 Congress-JD MLAs ahead of the vote of confidence.
Kumaraswamy resigned after losing the trust vote, after which BJP government was formed in the state led by BS Yeddyurappa, after which 17 disqualified MLAs petitioned the Supreme Court, which was filed by the Supreme Court on October 25.
But SC had reserved its decision for later. After the disqualification of MLAs, 15 of the 17 assembly seats vacated are to be held on December 5.
