Here on Saturday, South Western Railway inaugurated an escalator and to the disbelief of the readers this was not inaugurated by any minister, MLA or any officer, but the daughter of a laborer inaugurated it. The railway department is being appreciated of this gesture by the people.
According to the sources the automated stairs and an air-conditioned waiting hall of platform No. 4 of Bangalore Central Railway Station were to be inaugurated. But due to the case of Adhodhya, Section 144 was imposed in the entire city.
In such a situation, it was difficult for any minister to attend the inauguration ceremony. The minister asked the railway department to open the project without any inauguration. After which the railway officials selected 10-year-old Begamma for the inauguration and got the ribbon cut from it.
Begamma is the daughter of laborer Chand bi working in this project. Railway officials also asked him to thank Begmma by cutting the ribbon.
