A five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court today gave a Unique judgement today after their had pronounced their verdict in the Ayodhya case.
Today was another big day for Supreme Court as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ranjan Gogoi, Justice S Khann, Justice Gupta, Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Ramanna on Wednesday declared that now the office of the Chief Justice will also come under the Right to Information.
Till now Supreme Court doesn't comes under the jurisdiction of Right to Information as Supreme Court is the highest court of law. According to the bench of Judges who gave judgment SC is a public authority and now any common person can take information under the Right to Information.
During this time, the confidentiality of the office will remain intact. Also, Justice Ramanna has said that RTI cannot be used as a means of espionage. This decision has been taken under Article 124 of the Constitution.
