Uddhav Thackeray Resigns, Raut Will Be Crowned

The Thackeray family is going to rule in Maharashtra from today. But Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of editor of Saamna before becoming the Chief Minister. 

Now this post will be taken over by Shiv Sena MLA and party spokesman Sanjay Raut.  Saamna newspaper is the mouthpiece of Shiv Sena.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will be sworn in as Chief Minister, one or two members from each of the three parties will take the oath of office today. Sources say that there can be a maximum of 43 ministers in Maharashtra.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
