Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram Bail Granted

 According to the latest reports Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram got bail from Supreme Court today after 107 days in INX Media case.  

Chidambaram has been in ED custody since October 17.  Now Chidambaram may soon come out of Tihar Jail.  The Supreme Court said that during this time they would not try to contact any witnesses.  

Apart from this, they will not be able to travel abroad without permission.  Chidambaram will not give any public statement or interview related to the case.  He has been granted bail on a bond of two lakhs. Chidambaram had challenged the Delhi High Court's November 15 decision to dismiss his bail plea in the apex court.

 On November 28, a bench of Supreme Court Justice R Bhanumathi, Justice AS Bopanna and Justice Hrishikesh Rai completed the bail plea of ​​former Finance Minister P Chidambaram.  

The bench said that a decision on this will be pronounced later.  During the hearing on Chidambaram's bail appeal, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate, claimed that the former finance minister kept his influence on important witnesses despite being in custody.  

Whereas the former Finance Minister said that the investigating agency cannot ruin his reputation and career by making such baseless allegations.
