Allahabad University Chancellor Resigns

According to the reports coming in 
from Uttar Pradesh the Chancellor of Allahabad University has resigned from his post.  He has submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Human Resource Development.  

Chancellor Ratan Lal Hangloo was accused of illegal appointments spending more money on his security.  He was also summoned by the National Commission for Women in the past.  It is being told that the file of the resignation of the Vice Chancellor has been sent to the President.  Hangul was surrounded by the university's irregularities since 2016.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
