The scholar of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Sharjeel Imam is under-arrest. Sharjeel was arrested from Bihar's Jehanabad by Delhi and Bihar Police on Tuesday. Earlier his brother and friend were detained by the police.The search for Sharjeel was going from many days.A case of treason was lodged against him in five states across the country.
JNU PhD student Sharjeel Imam came to light when a controversial video of him went viral on social media.Police of several states including Delhi, UP were searching for him. According to the reports,the crime branch got lead of Sharjeel's location from his brother. Jehanabad SP confirmed the news of his arrest.
Sharjeel was involved in organizing protests at Shaheen Bagh and became famous when the video went viral. Another complaint was lodged against him in Assam,where he passed remarks about Assam and CAA.
