Young Scientist Laboratory To Be Inaugurated Today

The Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi is on a tour of Karnataka today.  During this time, he will visit the Siddhganga Math.  

Here he will lay the foundation stone of the memorial museum of Sri Sri Shivakumar Swami.  Five DRDO youth scientists laboratory will also be inaugurated.  The Modi government has built these young scientific laboratories to promote indigenous research capabilities.  At the same time, PM Modi will also distribute Krishi Karman Award in a meeting in Tumkur.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
