Seven Congress party MPs have been suspended for this duration of the current Parliament session on charges of insulting the House and Parliament.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meenakshi Lekha has said that eight Congress MPs have been suspended from Parliament. These members of Congress snatched the paper from the Speaker's Bench and threw the papers in the Parliament, doing so for the first time in the history of Parliament.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had moved a resolution to suspend Congress's Gaurav Gogoi, Dean Kuriyakos, Rajmohan Unnithan, TN Pratapan, Baini Behanan, Gurjit Singh Aujla and Manikam Tagore which was passed by the House.
