Significant Rise In Covid-19 Cases Around The Globe

There has been a significant rise in the cases of covid-19 from around the globe.

The total number of covid-19 positive cases has surpassed 700000 around the world.  With more than 30000 facilities around 150000 patients have been reportedly recovered.

With USA topping all the list of covid-19 cases.  Total reported cases in USA is 1,25,000. Australia has surpassed 4000 cases.

With UK locking down all its major cities.  And the restrictions may abide for next 6 months.

Russia has closed all its borders and has placed Moscow in quarantine.

Zimbabwe has also gone into 21 days lockdown to stop the spread of covid-19.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
