Attack On Arnab Goswami Condemned By Minister Of Information And Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar

As per reports Arnab Goswami and his wife had been attacked today morning which has been reported in the police station by two persons.  

This incidents has been contempt nationwide as this is a direct attack on the voice of media.

Adding to this Cabinet Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar has said that we condemn the attack on Arnab Goswami and his wife.  We condemn all the attacks which has been done on any journalist.

According to the Minister this is against democracy and it is really aeronautical that those persons who teach the lesson of tolerance have become so intolerant.

The behaviour of this kind it will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those involved in the crime added the Minister.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
