Prime Minister Narendra Modi Holding Video Conferencing With Chief Ministers Of States

According to reports coming in Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding video conferencing with all the Chief Ministers of various states of the country.

This video conferencing has been done to review the situation of the spread of covid-19 pandemic and the precautions and unlock down exit plan taken by the the states for stopping the spread of covid-19.

Report has still to come in but it was expected that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee skip the video conferencing with the Prime Minister.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
