Encounter Underway In Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag

Reports are coming from Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir that on Monday an encounter broke out between security forces and militant. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kapran forest areas of Anantnag in South Kashmir this morning after receiving specific information about the presence of militant in the area.

Reports are also coming that the search operation turned into an encounter after militant fired up on the search party of the forces who retaliated. The exchange of fire is going on and further details are awaited

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
