Reports of coming from Defence Ministry that consequent to the release of negative list of items for imports by Ministry on 9th August certain queries received with respect to inclusion of some items like light combat aircraft LCA mark 1A, Pinaka rocket system and akash missile system manufactured in India.
Reports are also coming that these systems are developed with qualitative requirements framed by defence forces and such systems are also available in the International market.
According to the report is coming from ministry of defence nomenculture of such weapons system has been included in the negative list of import to ensure that the different services do not go in for procurement of similar systems ex imports.
Reports are also coming that the reason for specifying system presently Made in India with part import content is to ban procurement of such equipment or items which carry similar qualitative requirement but are often contracted under differing nomenculture.
