Blood cannot be made artificially but has to be donated by people. Science has advanced so much but till now no artificial blood can be prepared for people.
This news which we were sharing is coming up from Punjab. Here a rarest of a rarest kind of blood bank has been set up which is an example of one of its kind in the country.
The blood bank which is set up in Punjab is a a dog blood bank. This blood bank has been set up for dogs at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Ludhiana.
Dr Shukriti Sharma from GADVASU, says, “We handle at least 25,000 cases every year. Of which, 500-600 cases have low haemoglobin level in dogs."
As per Dr Shukriti Sharma, Assistant Professor, GADVASU has said that earlier, blood of one dog was donated to the other. But with this blood bank facility, we separate the donated blood in three parts. These three parts of the blood are Red Blood Cells (RBCs), plasma and platelets:
