Minister Of External Affairs Addresses Conference For Afghan Peace In Doha Through Video Conferencing

Reports have been coming in from the Ministry of External Affairs as Union Minister has addressed conference on Afghan peace negotiations at Doha through video conferencing. 

The Minister has conveyed that peace process must be Afghan-led, Afghan-owned & Afghan-controlled.   It must respect national sovereignty & territorial integrity of Afghanistan & must promote human rights & democracy.

Our expectation is that the soil of Afghanistan should never be used for any anti-India activities. 

The friendship of our people is a testimony to our history with Afghanistan. 

According to the Minister no part of Afghanistan is untouched by our 400-plus development projects. The Minister is confident that this civilizational relationship will continue to grow.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
