Bharat Bandh Today Announced By Farmers

Reports have been coming in from the protesting farmers who have called for Bharat Bandh today to protest against the agricultural bill introduced by the NDA led government.

As per reports farmers protesting against the Centre's agricultural sector laws have called for Bharat Bandh today after several rounds of talks with the government over the new farm laws remained inconclusive. 

Opposition parties, which are in office in Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bengal, Kerala, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry are backing the bandh.

In a latest development the trains have been stopped and vehicular traffic has been stopped in most of the parts in Maharashtra including Mumbai.

Trains are also stopped in Kolkata by the supporters of the Left Party.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
