As per reports coming in operation is still underway at the Tapovan tunnel in Joshimath of Chamoli district. This tunnel was blocked and was completely shut down following the glacial burst and flash floods.
Various teams of SDRF, NDRF, ITBP and other teams are carrying out the operation. However the administration is trying very hard to complete the rescue operation but adverse climate and high rise in the river waters is blocking the operation.
As reported earlier a flash flood hit the district on 7th February, 2021 after a glacial burst.
