As per reported earlier Customs department in Kerala has served notice to Vinodini Balakrishnan, wife of former CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan asking her to appear before its Kochi office on March 10th.
As per reported from the Customs Department it is alleges that she used a costly iPhone which was given by Unitac Builders MD Santosh Eapen.
As per reports the iPhone was brought as a gift for guests who attend UAE National Day celebrations on December 2, 2019.
It was bought on the suggestion of Swapna Suresh, accused in Gold Smuggling Case.
The latest issue is where iPhones were given as a bribe. It is reported that one iPhone is being used by the former secretary of CPI(M)'s wife. How did it reach her? As per MoS MEA V Muraleedharan
It points out the fact that CPI(M) was very closely involved with smuggling of gold, dollar & corruption in Life Project. It can't wash off their hands, play victimhood, or say that Central govt is harassing them.
