Karnataka Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi Resigns From His Post On Sex Tape Charges

Latest reports have been coming in from Karnataka where Karnataka Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi submitted his resignation from his post in the wake of his alleged involvement in a sex tape case. 

His letter to CM reads, 'Allegation against me is far from truth. As fair investigation should take place, I'm resigning on moral grounds."

According to reports Ramesh Jarkiholi's resignation has been accepted by Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa and sent to Governor for approval.

Karnataka Minister Jagadish Shettar has said that He (Ramesh Jarkiholi) has resigned. Nobody has given any statement or complaint. We have to make a decision.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
