Second Phase Of Voting Going On In Assam And West Bengal

Latest reports have been coming in from Assam and West Bengal where second phase of polling for the assembly polls has been going on.

As per reports coming in Nandigram from where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has filled in her nomination voting has been going on.

Voters are queuing outside various polling booths in West Bengal and Assam to cast their votes.

Polling has also been going on in 24 Parganas for the second phase of West Bengal assembly Elections.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
