Cyclone Tauktae Has Hit Hard In Maharashtra, Air Travel Suspended, Trees Uprooted

Latest reports have been coming in from Maharashtra where cyclone Tauktae has hit badly.

As per reports Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also held a meeting via video conferencing today to review the preparedness and assistance being provided by the Armed Forces to civil authorities to tackle the situation arising out of cyclone Tauktae.

According to sources due to cyclone alert, Mumbai Airport operations closure has been extended up to 2000 hours today as per MIAL.

As per reports Juhu Beach in Mumbai also wore a deserted look amid rough beach waves.

However, Indian Coast Guard Ship Samarth who while responding to a distress call rescued 15 crew from a fishing boat named Milad, off Goa coast today. 

All crew are safe and boat is being towed ashore according to Indian Coast Guard.

As per latest reports trees have been uprooted, streets waterlogged and electric polls also uprooted in different parts of Mumbai due to heavy rain and wind by the after effects of CycloneTaukte.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also called Chief Ministers of Gujarat and Goa and Lieutenant Governor of Daman and Diu to discuss preparation and response to CycloneTaukte.

PM Modi in a telephonic conversation with CM Vijay Rupani discussed the preparations of the state to face Tauktae Cyclone. 

As per sources Prime Minister also expressed his readiness for all help from the Central Govt to the state according to Gujarat CMO.
