Delta Plus Variant Categorized Under Variant Of Concern By Government Of India

Latest reports have been coming in from Government of India which has stated that till now India has reported 40 cases of Delta Plus variant of the novel coronavirus.

The government of India stated that most of the cases are from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. 

As per reports from Government of India sources that it is still a variant of interest.

According to sources the Delta Plus variant observed sporadically in Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh with around 40 cases identified so far and no significant increase in prevalence. 

These States advised for strengthening surveillance, public health measures as per sources from Government of India.

Government clarifies that Delta Plus remains a 'Variant of Concern'

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan writes to chief secretaries of Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra, requesting them to take up immediate containment measures in the districts where Delta Plus variant, categorized as a 'Variant of Concern', has been detected 

According to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, I have directed officials that the Delta Plus variant cases should be monitored closely. 

Information about these cases should be collected and recorded for study. We are taking 100 samples from every district according to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
