Restoration And Rescue Operation In Full Swing In Jammu And Kashmir And Himachal Pradesh

Latest reports have been coming in from Himachal Pradesh where Chandigarh-Manali National Highway 3 has been blocked due to landslide near Pandoh area of Mandi district according to Mandi Police.

According to reports restoration work is underway.

The highway is closed since last night. One vehicle parked on road was also damaged after being hit by boulders. 

There is a long vehicle queue on NH3 and traffic is being diverted through alternate route via Kataula as per Shalini Agnihotri, Superintendent of Police, Mandi while speaking to ANI.

In another incidence of heavy rains and landslides three trekkers have been missing at Ghepan Peak according to State Emergency Operation Centre, Himachal Pradesh.

These Three trekkers were reported missing on July 27 at Ghepan peak, have returned safely to Sissu in Lahaul and Spiti district according to Manav Verma, Superintendent of Police, Lahaul-Spiti to ANI.

Reports are also coming in from Jammu and Kashmir where Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued 74 stranded personnel from different parts of Kishtwar including five critically injured patients.

IAF has also lifted 3150 kg of relief material of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
