Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur Congratulates Mirabai Chanu For Winning Silver Medal In Olympics

Latest reports have been coming in from Olympics where Silver medal for India is being brought by  Women's 49kg category by Mirabai Chanu.

Reports coming in from Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur where he's has congratulated and said that let me first congratulate Mirabai Chanu. 

A big thank you and thank you on behalf of PM Modi and the entire country for bringing a big smile on the faces of 135 crore Indians. 

This is the First day, first medal and a silver medal. You made the country proud said the Minister.

We are so grateful to you and you inspire the entire India, our Indian contingent in Tokyo Olympics and I'm sure the way you started on day 1, the other athletes are going to follow this and they are also going to make India proud said Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

Reports also coming in from Manipur where family and neighbours of weightlifter Mirabai Chanu burst into celebrations as they watch her win the Silver medal for India in Women's 49kg category. 

One of her relative has said to ANI that we are very happy today. This is a result of her hard work. India and Manipur are proud of her.
