Income Tax Department Seizes 30 Locations In Nagpur Of Prominent Public Figure

Latest report having coming in from Income Tax Department which has conducted searches and seizure operations at over 30 premises on Sept 17.

These searches and seizures have been done in case of a prominent public figure in Nagpur and his family members. 

This group has wide business interest spanning in education, warehousing  and agri-business areas, in Maharastra according to Finance Ministry.

During the course of the search and seizure operation, many incriminating documents, loose sheets and other digital evidence were found and seized. 

Evidence also indicated concealment of income to the extent of about Rs 17 crore. Investigation has started according to Ministry of Finance.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
