Neighbourhood First' & 'Act East' India's Policy Is Relevant For BIMSTEC

Latest reports have been coming in from the Foreign Ministry where Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has stated that our policy 'Neighbourhood First' & 'Act East' - both of which are relevant for BIMSTEC, are cornerstones of India's foreign policy. 

According to the reports BIMSTEC is unarguably a crucial link in connecting South and Southeast Asia according to the Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

The Secretary further added that as our PM has noted, BIMSTEC has emerged as the promising regional grouping to fulfill the common aspirations of its people.

BIMSTEC also serves the shared interest of its Member States according to Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

With 21.7% of world population  and combined GDP of US$ 3.8 Trillion, BIMSTEC is powerful engine of economic growth. 

During last decade, the region registered compound annual growth rate of 6.1%. We should collectively strive to surpass this rate this decade according to Foreign Secy HV Shringla.
