According to sources from National Centre for Seismology an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred today around 5:15 am at 73km SE of Thenzawl, Mizoram.
The administration and the police have come into action to check for any casualties for the loss of life and property in the area but till now no reports of any loss of life or property has been reported.
According to sources the earthquake is said to be a strong intensity and the officials of National Centre of Seismology have been checking the details of further damage.
